Starbuck's Maple Leaf

This is my first painting, created to make a piece of art for our newly painted guest bathroom.  I wanted to use colours that are used in coffee joints, and which happened to match our bathroom.  I wanted simplicity since it was my first picture.  Mark had told me so often to use paint to show the strokes, so I laid on the paint.

Untitled- (Austrian Church)

In the early 1990s I took a picture of this Austrian church while driving around with friends from Salzburg.  I started with the hills and church, but then decided to just add some things to try painting different objects like trees, bushes, flowers, light, etc.  Painting a church building was a big bite to take for being the second painting I had painted, but was a challenge that I completed in April 2006.
